Deaths[]

  • Lighting and Mater gets runned over by Thomas.
  • The town of Strawberry Shortcake gets crushed by Thomas.

Trivia[]

  • If you look closely at the engines traveling around the Island of Sodor (The Beginning). You can see three other tank engines, a red engine (James), a brown engine (Toby) and a blue engine (Gordon). However, they share the same basis as Thomas, even though James and Gordon are tender engines and Toby is a steam tram. In fact, the red second E2 Is similar to The Wooden Railway (1993-2017) factory error red Thomas
  • The Narrator's voice sounds like actor Alec Baldwin. Alec had narrated the US dub of the show from Season 5 to Season 6 and he had played Mr. Conductor in the film Thomas And The Magic Railroad.
  • Thomas became unstoppable simply by having Sir Topham Hatt/The Fat Controller (and later Frank) slap him, which starts him rolling.
  • In the background of Frank Barnes and Sir Topham Hatt, there were screens full of Thomas, Harold, Percy, the Island of Sodor, purple and black screens, and one of them had a picture of Alfred E. Neuman.
  • In the background of the control room behind Frank and Sir Topham Hatt, there were people who were shadows and black and mysterious.
  • Mater and Lightning McQueen appear to be on their world tour (a reference to Disney and Pixar's Cars 2).
  • Keith Ferguson is the voice of Lightning McQueen in this episode as well as Sir Topham Hatt. He is also the voice of McQueen in Cars Toons, Cars Mater-National, Cars Race-O-Rama, and Cars 2: The Video Game, Disney Infinity, and Miss Fritter’s Racing Skool. The original version has McQueen voiced by a different actor.
  • Harold has a green stripe on him instead of red, his cab is more square instead of round, Missing His Name On His Sides and he has eyebrows just like in The Railway Series and then later in Thomas & Friends All Engines Go
  • Harold has only two blades for his main propellers. and all of his propellers are all white instead of black and red.
  • Antagonist: Harold (when he was shooting at Thomas; although he was trying to be friendly)
  • Percy's relevant absent-mindedness is a reference to the dumbing-down his character has had in the more recent seasons of Thomas & Friends, mainly in the Hit and Sharon Miller eras.
  • Much like in Thomas And The Magic Railroad and then later in Thomas & Friends All Engines Go the engines can move all by themselves
  • Thomas' stripes and buffer Beam are yellow instead of red and has green window frames instead of yellow. His shape, however, perfectly matches the dimensions of his original basis, an LBSCR E2 tank engine. therefore his back of his footplate is dipped and his model is a CGI model of his Hornby model made by TurboSquid
  • The train cars that Thomas is pulling all have side rods like the engines do which this could be the inspiration for Diesel and the other diesels hiding in the crates in The Great Race
  • Percy's stripes and buffer Beam are yellow instead of red, he also has six stripes instead of four, blue window frames instead of yellow and he also has a curve footplate instead of a flat one similar to his Take Along, Take N Play and battery operated Wooden Railway models, but more so like how Thomas appears in the sketch, and a single siderod, he is A Lot more longer and his absent minded personality is more exaggerated than in the actual show. Also, Percy has a crazy kindness behavior.
  • The background music was more childish than actual Thomas & Friends background music, unlike the themes composed by Mike O' Donnell and Junior Campbell which their themes where fun to listen at.
  • The engines' eyes are more oval-like.
  • The engines and rolling stock are depicted with American knuckle couplers
  • Sir Topham Hatt's Suit has bow instead of tie one. Much like his grandson Stephen Hatt/Sir Stephen Hatt lll wores one as the controller in The Railway Series
  • Sir Topham Hatt is thin instead of fat, Making him look like how he was in The Railway Series.
  • Lightning McQueen's paintjob is red with white flames, instead of his Usual Piston Cup/Rust-eze paintjob from Cars and Cars 3, Or His World Grand Prix paint job from Cars 2.
  • Mater is painted Green.
  • The crossing were Thomas crashes into Lightning McQueen and Mater is an American railroad crossing without gates
  • Edward, Henry, Emily, Duck, Oliver, Toad, Annie, Clarabel, Henrietta, The Troublesome Trucks, S.C. Ruffey, Old Slow Coach, Hector, Rocky, Donald, Douglas, Bill, Ben, Spencer, Stepney, Harvey, Murdoch, Arthur, Fergus, Lady, Diesel 10, Splatter, Dodge, BoCo, Daisy, Mavis, Salty, Derek, Diesel, Arry, Bert, Skarloey, Rheneas, Sir Handel, Peter Sam, Rusty, Duncan, Duke, Bertram, Fearless Freddie, Mighty Mac, Rosie, Stanley, Molly, Neville, Dennis, Whiff, Scruff, Billy, Hank, Flora, Hiro, Charlie, Victor, Kevin, Flynn, Belle, Den, Dart, Paxton, Sidney, Norman, Bertie, Terence, Trevor, Bulgy, George, Caroline, Butch, Madge, Jack, Alfie, Oliver The Excavator, Max, Monty, Kelly, Isobella, Byron, Ned, Nelson, Buster, Patrick, Miss Jenny, Jeremy, Tiger Moth, Bulstrode, Captain, Colin, Lady Hatt, Stephen Hatt, Bridget Hatt, Dowager Hatt, Mr. Percival and Other Thomas & Friends (classic series) as well Railway Seríes exclusive Characters don't appear in this sketch, Mainly due to budget cut reasons.
  • The engines can move their faces similar to how a plane does it in Jay Jay The Jet Plane. and then later in Thomas & Friends All Engines Go
  • The original version as seen on Vimeo is extended, but with a different title card, different voices (most of which are most likely temporary voices) and lines that weren’t heard in the released version, such as:
    • Frank Barnes: I told you, I'd stop Thomas under one condition: I work alone.
    • Sir Topham Hatt: Y-you never said that!
    • Also, Sir Topham Hatt has a different voice while saying, "And soft cheeses, geez, were you even listening!"
  • This segment had many similarities to an actual episode from the second season of Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends (classic series) called The Runaway, which Is also based on the story of the same name From The Railway Series book More About Thomas The Tank Engine both of which are about Thomas who can't stop. Harold also helps stop Thomas. and the story is based on a real event involving one of the "Jazz" trains out of Liverpool Street.
  • If you look closely next to Percy is a crane base that resembles Cranky The Crane
  • The sound effect used for when Frank slaps Thomas' side was previously used for the official Thomas & Friends episode Steamy Sodor, For When Kevin The Crane accidentally hits the button that operates the locomotive hoist in the Sodor Steamworks
  • The episode that this segment was shown on was released on August 22nd, 2011, the same day after the release of the official Thomas & Friends special, Day Of The Diesels, which was released on August 21st, 2011.

Goofs[]

  • In a close-up of Frank talking with Percy before trying to rescue Thomas, Percy's wheels and side rods appear to be going forwards even though he was going backwards.
  • When the narrator says "And there wasn't a cloud in the sky", we can see clouds throughout the whole segment.
  • Thomas' train should have a brake van.
  • During a close-up of Mater and McQueen driving, Mater is incorrectly painted green. After being hit by Thomas, he turns into his original rusty brown color.
  • Percy was coupled up to Thomas when both brake up, but when Thomas squashes the little town of Strawberry Shortcake, Percy wasn't coupled to Thomas.
  • Both Thomas and Percy are missing their rear portholes.
  • Percy is missing his coal bunker
  • Thomas has a diesel engine horn instead of a steam whistle.
  • When Frank slaps Thomas, Thomas was passing Frank. But in the next scene, he passes him again.
  • By the speed Thomas and the trucks go, they could've derailed in a curve track.
  • When Percy couples up to Thomas, the rear coupling hooks on both Percy and Thomas' rear freight Car are absent.
  • When Lightning McQueen and Mater get hit by Thomas, McQueen has a scared expression, however, Mater is still smiling.
  • Thomas and Percy don't have any drivers and fireman, and Harold has no pilot.
